FCHS Hall of Fame ceremony Saturday

Ten distinguished alumni, including six former athletes and coaches, are to be inducted into the Fayette County High School Hall of Fame this Saturday during ceremonies at the school.

On the athletic side, the honorees include:

Jill Joiner, current Lady Tigers softball coach whose team won the AAAAA state championship last fall.

Jody Allen, who lettered in several sports and graduated from FCHS in 1979. He went on to play college football and is now an assistant coach at Florida State.

Glenn Clack, an early-1970s graduate of Fayette County who went on to run on track team at Georgia Tech.

Belinda Grooms McCastle, a starter for the Lady Tigers basketball team in the mid-1980s who also went on to compete at the collegiate level.

L.B. "Red" Hickson, the school's baseball and basketball coach in the 1950s. He passed away about a year ago.

Douglas Seigle, a former goalkeeper for the Tigers soccer squad and placekicker for the football team. He went on to play professional soccer and is now a collegiate coach.

The banquet begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 and available at Fayette Sporting Goods.
