Country Clash 2 this weekend Local celebrities representing two metro Atlanta radio stations will take the field in Peachtree City Sunday morning for Country Clash 2, benefiting the Fayette Field of Hope. The gates will open at 10 a.m. at the city's baseball and soccer complex on Ga. Highway 74, with Little League festivities, games for the kids and more. The Challenger League, with some help from Radio Disney, will take the field at 12:30 p.m. for an exhibition game just before the featured game of the day. Kicks 101.5 and Eagle 106.7 will do battle beginning at 2 p.m. Each team will consist of popular DJs, country music celebrities and local television celebrities. The national anthem will be sung by Lee Greenwood, who will then play on the Eagle 106.7 team. After the game, a listener appreciation concert will feature Jeff Bates and Sammy Kershaw. Admission to Country Clash 2 is $10 per carload and includes the entire day's festivities. All proceeds will benefit the Fayette Field of Hope, a specially designed field that allows physically and mentally challenged children to play youth baseball on a real team, to learn the game and create lasting friendships. The Field of Hope will be a custom-designed venue, incorporating a cushioned synthetic turf that will accommodate children with a variety of disabilities while helping prevent injuries. Other activities planned for Sunday include an adult and child home run derby, a baserunning contest, speed pitching contests, midway games, face painting and swirl art. Participants can purchase wristbands at the gate for $10 and have unlimited use of all activities.
