Fayette Presbyterian Missions Conference is March 29-30 Fayette Presbyterian Church will hold its annual Missions Conference Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30. The conference will begin on Saturday evening with a meal at 6 p.m. and worship at 7 p.m., and will continue Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast and missions fair. The event will conclude with a Sunday brunch, served by the church youth, following the 11 a.m. worship service. Guest speaker will be Dr. Ben Mathes, president of Rivers of the World (ROW), an international exploration and development agency that targets remote river basins. Mathes, an ordained Presbyterian minister, has traveled the world in behalf of international health development and explorations. He has worked extensively in the Congo, Cameroon, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Bangladesh, Thailand, Korea, Taiwan, El Salvador, Belize, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. His latest expedition included leading 16 people down the San Kuru River of the Congo. Cost of the Saturday night meal is $4 for adults, $2 for children, and a maximum of $12 for families. Cost of the Sunday brunch is $4 for adults and $2 for children under 12, in advance, or $6 for adults and $4 for children at the door. Sunday brunch proceeds will go to the youth ministry to help finance their mission trip to Nicaragua. A nursery will be provided for the Sunday school hour and both worship services.
