Coweta County's water and sewer customers' rates are on the rise.

Last week, the Coweta County Commission approved a revised rate schedule that will keep tares in line with operating expenses.

A rate study was performed by Stevenson & Palmer Engineering, Inc., before the rates were increased. Changes in the rates include:

Increasing the minimum water rate from $3.35 to $3.85 per thousand gallons.

Increasing the rates charged higher water usage tiers by the same amount.

Simplifying the sewer rates by charging the same rate, $3.40 per 1,000 gallons for all sewer customers.

Changing industrial water and sewer rates to $4.30 per 1,000 gallons.

Increasing all residential tap fees to $1,000.
