Opening Friday

Bringing Down the House Steve Martin and Queen Latifah star in this comedy that presents both stars as fishes out of water. Latifah is an escaped con in Martin's suburban home and Martin is a dorky white guy who gets a little urban flavor. Rated PG-13.

Tears of the Sun Bruce Willis stars as a miltary man whose mission is to rescue an American doctor, played by Monica Belluci, from a hostile situation in Nigeria. The problem is that the doctor doesn't want to be rescued if that means the people she is helping will die. Willis changes his mission and helps the doctor and the citizens. Rated R.

Now Playing

About Schmidt Jack Nicholson plays a recently widowed and retired insurance salesman who is distraught over his daughter's upcoming marriage. This has won several awards and Jack is an early favorite for a Best Actor nod. Rated R.

Biker Boyz Think "The Fast and the Furious" but with motorcycles. The cast is pretty good (Larenz Tate, Laurence Fishburne, Kid Rock....) and I'm sure the racing sequences will be top notch. Rated PG-13.

Chicago I was blown away by how good this was and can't wait to see it again. The Golden Globe winning musical stars Rene Zellweger, Richard Gere and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Rated PG-13.

Cradle 2 The Grave DMX and Jet Li star in this film about stolen diamonds and a kidnapped girl. Expect lots of martial arts set to rap music. This is a good thing for fans of this type of movie. Rated R.

Daredevil Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Collin Farrell and Michael Clark Duncan star in this film based on the popular comic book hero. Early buzz has been good, especially for Farrell's villainous Bullseye. Rated PG-13.

Dark Blue Kurt Russell plays a dirty cop and Ving Rhames plays the cop that will bring him down. This has received pretty good reviews across the board. Rated R.

Deliver Us From Eva LL Cool J stars in this film based on Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew." He is paid to date a mean girl so that others can pursue her sister. This is the same thing as "Ten Things I Hate About You," which was "The Taming of the Shrew" set in high school. Rated R.

Final Destination 2 The sequel to a film about people who cheated death by escaping a plane crash but are still being chased by Death. This was a lot of fun, though very intense. Rated R.

Gods and Generals If you are a Civil War buff then you will probably enjoy this very long epic that serves as a precursor to the mini-series Gettysburg. If you don't care about the Civil War, this movie is most likely not for you. Rated PG-13.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey star in this romantic comedy about a guy and girl both playing to lose the other one. Things go awry when they both fall in love with the other. Rated PG-13.

Kangaroo Jack Two guys are trying to deliver money to mobsters when it is stolen by a kangaroo. Now, the guys must chase down the kangaroo and get the money back or face the consequences. I have no idea how this film can still be in theaters. Rated PG.

Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers This film picks up where the last one left off. Frodo and Sam continue their quest to destroy the ring, while Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas try to find Sam and Frodo, the other hobbits, Merry and Pippin, and destroy Saruman. This was even better than the first one with more action and humor. Why must we wait until next December for the final installment? Rated PG-13.

Old School The makers of "Road Trip" bring audiences this tale of thirtysomethings reliving their college days by starting a fraternity. This was a very funny movie and wasn't as juvenile and insipid as you might think. Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson and Vince Vaughn star. Rated R.

Shanghai Knights Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson return for more action in this sequel to "Shanghai Noon." This film is set in London and involves Chan and Wilson exacting revenge for the death of Chan's father. Rated PG-13.

The Jungle Book 2 The sequel to the popular Disney film from the late 1960s. Mowgli returns to the jungle and his friends must protect him from Shere Kahn. Rated G.

The Life of David Gale Kevin Spacey stars as an advocate of the abolition of the death penalty who winds up on death row. He says he is framed and Kate Winslet attempts to find out just what the truth is. Rated R.

The Recruit Al Pacino and Colin Farrell star in this action film about CIA recruits who may or may not be moles within the CIA. Rated R.

Also Playing

Antwone Fisher Denzel Washington stars and directs this film based on a true story. Fisher is a troubled young man in the Navy. Rated PG-13.

Die Another Day Bond fans have said this new installment was one of the Best Bond films in recent memory. It is action packed and stars Halle Berry alongside Pierce Brosnan's Bond. Rated PG-13.

Drumline Filmed in Atlanta, this film revolves around a cocky young drummer joining a college marching band. Rated PG-13.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets The sequel to the first Harry Potter film gives audiences lots of thrills and laughs. Kenneth Branagh is especialy funny as Professor Gilderoy Lockhart. Rated PG.

Just Married Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy play newlyweds from different social classes in this comedy. As the first comedy released in 2003, here are hopes that it is funny and not too gross and stupid. Rated PG-13.

Maid in Manhattan The story of Cinderella gets modernized with this film starring J.Lo and RaFi - I mean, Ralph Fiennes. Rated PG-13.

My Big, Fat Greek Wedding One of the biggest hits of the year. A woman from a Greek-family marries a man with from a protestant background. Her fiancee' converts to the Greek Orthodox faith in order to marry her. This was funny but it wasn't the funniest movie ever. Rated PG-13.

Narc Jason Patric and Ray Liotta star in this hardboiled cop drama. It got good reviews but never caught on with audiences. I would check this out for a buck. Rated R.

Star Trek: Nemesis This was a good film for fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation. If this is the last film, and it might be, it was a good way to end it. Rated. PG-13.

The Hot Chick This movie was terrible. Seriously. I walked out of this and I never walk out of movies. Poorly acted, poorly written and just poor overall, this didn't even feel like a real movie. The story is about a mean girl and a dumb guy switching bodies. Yuk. Rated PG-13.
