McIntosh wins first tennis tournament of the year By MICHAEL
BOYLAN The Mcintosh boys and girls tennis teams won the High School Invitational Tournament held at the Peachtree City Tenis Center last Friday and Saturday. The boys and girls teams faced Fayette County high School in the first round, Spalding High School in the second and Starr's Mill in the final round. The boys went undefeated in the tournament. In singles, Phil Van Fossan and Stefan James went 3-0 while Osman farqui went 2-0 and Francois Pienar went 1-0. The doubles team of Hoot Fisher and Patrick Thomas went 2-0, while Hoot Fisher and Quan Li went 1-0. Joe Styga and Erik Knapp defeated the team from Fayette County, while Styga and Thomas defeated Spalding and Styga and Pienar defeated Starr's Mill. For the girls, Priscilla Roberts went 2-1, losing to Starr's Mill's Jenny Shular in three sets. Rebecca Timmis went 2-0, Adriane Hodges went 2-0 and Shelby Carlson and Stephanie Daughenbaugh went 1-0, both getting wins against Fayette County. In doubles matches, Hodges and Jessica Prester and Renae Clarke and Kristen Adlington defeated Fayette County. The team of Carlson and Clarke defeated Spalding, while Lauren Wilde and Megan McPherson lost to Spalding. Against Starr's Mill Wilde and Carlson defeated Lauren Dillon and Kristin Thornton while Krisitn Cobb and Daughenbaugh defeated Jenna McPherson and Joanna Tolsma. McIntosh and Starr's Mill will face off again Wednesday, March 12.
