Miss Pride Pageant returns for 35th year By MICHAEL

The Miss Pride of Fayette County Pageant returns this weekend for its 35th year. Each year the pageant is hosted by the Fayette County high School badn boosters as a fundraiser. Proceeds raised will go towards purchasing band equipment, uniforms and instruments. The pageant will begin on Friday with the Junior Miss Pride competition (grades 6-8) at 7:30 p.m. The competition begins on Saturday morning with Tiny Miss Pride (3-4 year olds) at 10 a.m., followed by Little Miss Pride (grades K-2) at 11:30 a.m., Senior Miss Pride (ages 55 and older) at 2 p.m., Young Miss Pride (grades 3-5) at 4:30 p.m. and Miss Pride (grades 9-12) at 7:30 p.m. The pageant will take place at Sams Auditorium and admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Winners receive a trophy, banner, crown, flowers, cash prize and gifts donated by local businesses.
