Seabaugh's
bill is aimed at increasing insurance profits
I guess Senator [Mitch] Seabaugh has been a politician long enough. He seems to have graduated with honors from his "political spin" class. He claims his bill (SB 50) is about increasing health insurance and will only impact about 20 to 25 percent of the businesses in Georgia. Of course, in reality SB 50 is about giving 97 percent of all businesses in Georgia an opportunity to increase their profit margin by sacrificing healthcare for their employees. It's about letting workers pay for mammograms and prostate cancer screening. It's about letting insurance companies make a little more money. SB 50 is about one thing only: money. It's about taking money out of the pockets of working families and putting it into the pockets of insurance companies. So what if some breast cancer goes undiagnosed because a family could not afford a mammogram. So what if someone suffers from advanced prostate cancer because he didn't want to pay for a PSA test. The important thing is that some insurance companies made a bigger profit. I guess Sen. Seabaugh really has been a politician long enough.
