Grace Christian places second in tournament

Grace Christian Academy's middle school boys' basketball team ended its season with a 10-8 record after taking second place in their conference tournament. GCA lost to St. John's the Evangelist School out of Hapeville 53-46 in the championship game.

The single elimination tournament took place last week, culminating with the championship game on Friday at the Bedford School in Fairburn.

Grace Christian began the tournament with a win against St. Paul Lutheran on Monday and then pulled out a hard fought 41-35 win against the first seeded Bedford School on Tuesday.

"I'm so proud of our guys," said coach Brian Fourman. "We were the fourth seeded team, so we had to face some stiff competition to make it to the final game. The guys played great and represented our school well."

Other teams in the tournament included Griffin Christian Academy and Our Lady of Victory Catholic School.
