FCFT presents "The Legend of Pocahantas" By MICHAEL
BOYLAN Fayette-Coweta Family Theatre Inc. presented "Charlotte's Web" on weekday mornings in October. The production was so successful, selling out all of their shows, that the group decided to put on another production on weekday mornings. "The Legend of Pocahantas" will be presented at Our Lady of Mercy's auditorium Monday-Thursday, Feb. 10-13 at 9:40 a.m. There will also be one evening performance Thursday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. "The Legend of Pocahantas" is being performed by FCFT's educational production company, A Company of Friends and the morning shows are presented for school groups, groups of homeschoolers or families with very young children. Each child will receive an educational activity sheet and a Native American souvenir. Each show ends with a meet and greet session with the cast of characters. "The Legend of Pocahantas" is a 55-minute musical that teaches lessons about perseverance, friendship and acceptance. The show features magnificent sets, beautiful Native American costumes and a good dose of humor. The production is geared towards children ages 4-10. Morning performances are already becoming full. Group rates for morning performances are $4.50 per student and $3 per adult. For every 10 children, one adult may attend for free at the morning shows. Tickets for the evening show are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased via FCFT's website at www.fcft.net/ACOF, by phone at 770-251-7611 or at the Peachtree City and Fayetteville libraries.
