CDM presents financial workshop Feb. 8

Christ Discipleship Ministries will present the second in its series of six workshops Saturday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The workshop will address the topic, "Begin Your Road to Financial Success," and will be taught by April W. Wyatt, a retired family and consumer sciences educator and consultant, formerly with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service. She presently conducts financial seminars and workshops. Braelinn Baptist offers retirement strategies course

Braelinn Baptist Church will present a planning course on "Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement," each Thursday, Feb. 6 through Feb. 27, from 6:30-9 p.m. Topics covered will include investments, long-term health care, Social Security and Medicare, estate planning, lifestyle issues, pension options and, in general, a conservative approach to wise money management. Heritage Christian offers variety of Wednesday classes

Heritage Christian Church offers a variety of classes for adults on Wednesday evenings. Currently, classes are being held on: "Intimate Issues," led by Vickie Sloderbeck; "Single Again" classes, led by Fred Stavely; "Financial Peace University," led by Angela Papac; and "An Ordinary Day with Jesus," led by Roy Robertson. Holy Trinity hosts daily ecumenical prayers for country

Holy Trinity Catholic Church began holding a daily ecumenical 15- minute prayer service last Monday for the U.S. leadership and military during this time of tragedy and uncertainty. Anyone in the community is welcome to attend. Those who cannot attend are encouraged to pray wherever they are at this time of the day. The prayer service will be at 12:30 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and at noon on Fridays.

First Baptist offers ESL classes

The Fayetteville First Baptist Church will offer ESL (English as a Second Language) classes each Sunday from 4:30-6 p.m., beginning Sunday, Feb. 9. Classes will continue for 10 weeks. These are in addition to the ongoing classes presently held on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-11 a.m. Holidays to be observed follow the Fayette County School System holidays. Christian Minstrals to appear at Tyrone First Christian

The First Christian Church of Tyrone will host the Christian Minstrels in concert Sunday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. The Christian Minstrels is a group of students from Atlanta Christian College who perform all over the southeast. Fairburn ministry offers drug, alcohol counseling

Open Word Ministries in Fairburn will offer free weekly group counseling sessions for those struggling with drug or alcohol addictions.
