Jackson opens new Mitsubishi dealership Don Jackson, President of the Don Jackson family of automobile dealerships, announced the purchase and opening of a new Mitsubishi automobile franchise. The new dealership, the fourth in Metro Atlanta, is located on Jonesboro Road off Interstate 85 in Union City. Named Don Jackson Mitsubishi, the dealership will sell the full line of Mitsubishi automobiles and sport utility vehicles in addition to a selection of previously owned vehicles. Derek Jackson, the dealership's general manager, states that Mitsubishi is the fastest growing Japanese automobile manufacturer in America. Not only does the company bring an affordable car to the consumer, but there are also great programs for all buyers, including zero percent financing plus no payments until 2004. Mitsubishi's Education Edge program is another exciting incentive for young car buyers. Don Jackson has been in the automobile business in south Atlanta for over 30 years. Starting in used car sales, Jackson became an American Motors new car dealer in the late 1970's. He then opened a Lincoln Mercury new car dealership in the same location several years later. Jackson's success led to the opening of Don Jackson's Spartan Lincoln Mercury at Southlake in the mid-1980's. He was later selected to open yet another Lincoln Mercury franchise, Don Jackson Lincoln Mercury, in Union City in the early 1990's. Each of Jackson's dealerships is operated by an immediate member of the Jackson family. Oldest son Casey is the general manager at Spartan Lincoln Mercury. Paul Nestlehutt, Jackson's son-in-law, is the general manager of Don Jackson Lincoln Mercury. Another son, Derek Jackson, is the general manager of the new Don Jackson Mitsubishi. The senior Jackson commented that they are particularly excited to have this new opportunity to offer our customers an exciting line of affordable cars.
