Have a blast with bluegrass bands at annual fundraising concert

Fans of bluegrass music take note. The fourth annual Bluegrass Blast returns to Sams Auditorium in Fayetteville this Saturday night, giving fans a sampling of classic and modern bluegrass in a fundraising concert for the Fayette County High School Select Chorus. The event has grown each year and raises money for the Select Chorus's bi-annual concert tour of New York City.

Southside Theatre Guild presents play about women in Vietnam

Since the Vietnam War ended, the tales of many people's experiences in the war has been shared in many forms. Aside from the popular television program "China Beach," the contributions that women made to the war effort have gone seemingly unheralded. The military did not keep records of how many women served during the war and only recently did the Vietnam War Memorial add a part to the memorial that acknowledged the women who died in Vietnam.

World renown violinist comes to Spivey Hall

Vadim Repin, the Russian violinist described by Yehudi Menuhin as "Simply the best, most perfect violinist I have heard," makes his Atlanta debut in recital at Spivey Hall on Friday, Jan. 24 at 8:15 p.m.
