Tax incentive
districts seem right way to go
Dear Mr. Mayor and councilmen, I wanted to forward the article to you, just in case you missed it in the AJC, "Self-taxing districts gain traction." I read a quote from Bob Lenox stating his concern about whether Mayor Brown and council members were leading the city into the future. I know, for sure, that you all are trying to (i.e., your attempt at forming a CID in PTC) but you continue to battle those few people that can't get past their feelings of vengeance toward you. In their continued attempts to harm your reputation and block every forward-thinking idea you come up with, they are only harming the citizens of Peachtree City. The more your detractors try to sabotage you the more they insult the intelligence of those that supported you. Their plan is slowly backfiring. These self-taxing districts sound like an obvious mechanism to assist the city with some of the concerns in the Ga. highways 7454 area but I suppose since it was Mayor Brown's proposal and not the Chamber of Commerce, the Development Authority (the funds are used to promote local business development) or the previous mayor's idea, it was attacked and criticized. Keep up the good work! Margie Swart Peachtree City
