No problems in
PTC until Mayor Brown came along
Until Steve Brown came along, Peachtree City was the most successful planned community in the eastern United States. Until Steve Brown came along, Peachtree City was a gem in the state of Georgia, an economic powerhouse and a great place to live. We didn't have a problem with the Development Authority of Peachtree City until Steve Brown came along. We didn't have a problem with the Tennis Center and Amphitheater until Steve Brown came along. We didn't have a problem with the airport until Steve Brown came along. We didn't have a problem with the air show, city finances or ethics until Steve Brown came along. We didn't have a problem with the city attorney, the city manager or the director of developmental services. We didn't need extreme art, speed humps or a crosswalk at Wal-Mart until Steve Brown came along. We did have a good working relationship with the state Department of Transportation until Steve Brown came along. We did have a good working relationship with our state senator, our state representative, our Fayette County Board of Commissioners, the Fayette County Board of Education, the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanians, Rotarians, Optimists, Pessimists, and Cynics, until Steve Brown came along. Those of us who have lived here more than a few years do so because we like Peachtree City. Peachtree City is different and special. It is a place where volunteers work to make our city better simply because we are proud of our community and because we care. We cannot expect anyone outside our community to clean up this mess. It is our mess and only we can restore the special feeling that was Peachtree City. Only we can restore dignity and integrity to City Hall. It is time to reclaim our city. It's time to stand up and be counted. Steve Brown would have us believe as he seems to believe, that he is a savior sent to purge evil from Peachtree City. We didn't have a problem with evil in Peachtree City, until Steve Brown came along. Gary Rower Peachtree City [Rower ran against Brown for mayor last fall.]
