41st Atlanta Boat Show offers bonanza of bargains and events By MICHAEL
BOYLAN Are you a boat owner? Would you like to be one? If you answered yes to either of these questions or are just an aficionado of aquatic activities, visit the 41st annual Atlanta Boat Show at the Georgia World Congress Center starting today and running through Jan. 12. The Atlanta Boat Show features sailing and fishing seminars, tons of bargains from all of the major dealers and manufacturers, showcases on outdoor travel, contests, appearances and more. Among the variety of products available are houseboats, sailboats, powerboats, fishing and pontoon boats and personal watercraft. Also on the premises will be the world's largest traveling fishing aquarium. As for special promotions, the Atlanta Boat Show has a boat load. The first 100 children under the age of 12 through the doors on Saturday and Sunday will receive a free life jacket. Visitors will also be able to meet the Georgia Tech crew team, which is considered to be the fastest team in the South. There will be raffles to enter, a boating photo contest, fishing simulators and interactive games and the first 50 people to purchase a boat at the show will receive a complimentary bottle of Pommery Champagne. Five of those winners will win dinner for two at Dante's Down the Hatch. The 41st Atlanta Boat Show will run from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday.
