Play ball before the scouts on FCHS diamond, Jan. 19

The Fayette County High School Home Run Baseball Club will host a professional baseball showcase with major league scouts from the Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds, Florida Marlins, Montreal Expos and San Diego Padres. The showcase is sponsored and organized by USA All Star Sports.

This event is open to local youth, ages 14-19, an opportunity to showcase their talents to major league scouts. Each participant will receive an evaluation on their performance.

The showcase will take place Sunday, Jan. 19 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Jimmie Mayfield baseball field, the home of the Fayette County Tigers.

The cost per player will be $75. Players will need to bring a bat, a glove, a helmet (if you have one) and a sack lunch. A full uniform with metal cleats is recommended but not mandatory.
