High school athletics starts up again this weekend

School starts back up on Monday but several groups of high school athletes will get back in the swing of things this weekend. Fayette County's boys and girls basketball teams will play at Cross Keys on Saturday with action starting at 2:30 p.m. Two local wrestling teams will be in action this weekend as well. Starr's Mill will wrestle in the Hoover Invitational, while Sandy Creek's wrestlers will wrestle in the Murray County duals on Friday and the Murray County Invitational on Saturday. The second half of the basketball season will get started Tuesday, Jan. 7. McIntosh will travel to Lovejoy, while Sandy Creek hosts Douglas County, Fayette County hosts Newnan and Starr's Mill hosts East Coweta. Games will start at 6 p.m.
