The annual events that take place in and around Fayette County are a large part of what makes this area great. The annual traditions are a celebration of local artisans, good food, good music and community spirit. No matter how many changes the area has undergone, one can count on the local festivals and events taking place.

Fayetteville is the site of a number of great festivals including Taste of Fayette, the Old Courthouse Art Show, July Jam, Bark in the Park, the Fayette County Kiwanis Fair, the Main Street Festival, the South Metro Rose Society Rose Show and more. Each one is a good draw, bringing in people from all over the state as well as the Southeast. All of these festivals will return in 2003, probably bigger and better than before.

Festivals and events that take place in Peachtree City each year include Touch-A-Truck, Shakerag Festival, Fiesta on the Plaza, the Chili Challenge, Last fling, the Great Georgia Air Show, the Japanese-American Friendship Society Festival, the Peachtree City Garden Tour and the annual Kiwanis pancake breakfast among others.

Other events that are enjoyed by many in the area include the Georgia Renaissance Festival, Powers Crossroads, the Cotton Pickin' Fair in Gay, Ga., the Old Town Sharpsburg Festival, Inman Farm Days, Founders Day in Tyrone, the annual festival in Brooks, the Turin Antique Farm Power Show and Tractor Pull, and the Coweta County Fair.

These events offer something for everyone, which is why they continue to grow in popularity. With these events to look forward to, 2003 will most certainly be a good year.
