PTC Recreation announces winners of door decorating contest
By MICHAEL
BOYLAN The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department sponsored a Holiday Door Contest for residents of Peachtree City in early December. The decorated entryways were beautifully created to capture the chosen categories. All winners will be presented with a unique Holiday Award at the Peachtree City Council meeting Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall. Residents can view the winning homes located throughout Peachtree City. Some of the neighborhoods where the homes are located have many other displays that are in keeping with the holiday spirit. The winners of the Fantastic Lights category were Mike and Robin Lorber of 134 Mellington Lane in Mellington Subdivision off N. Kedron Dr. Judges Ann and Jerry Shoemaker especially liked the flamingoes that hinted of the Florida Keys. St. Andrews Square located off Flat Creek Rd. is a lovely traditional subdivision with historical reproductions reminiscent of an English village square. Sandra Pruitt at 108 St Andrews Square won the Boughs and Bows category with the use of greenery and red trimmings. Robin Wedemeyer of 317 Tempest Drive of The Point on Lake Kedron won the admiration of her neighbors with a most beautiful Traditional Holiday Theme. They encouraged her to enter the contest. The life-sized old-time Santa with a listening ear standing on the front porch is complete with fur trim and ready to enter her home. Ronny Gonzalez, who resides in Interlochen at 602 Wingspread, spent many hours hooking up and testing all the lights and figurines to create a theme park-like setting for the Children and Toys category. The display is complete with moving figures. Plan on visiting some or all of the home listed and enjoy the surrounding neighborhoods.
