Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserable, old miser but he wasn't always that way. Three spirits, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Future, visit him on Christmas Eve in an attempt to show Scrooge the error of his ways.

Fayette Coweta Family Theatre will present its adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol" at Spring Hill Elementary School through Sunday.

This holiday production, written by Tammy Barton and Gayann Truelove, features a cast of 27 local adults, teens and children and is full of elegeant Olde English costumes, familiar Christmas carols and holiday sentiments. As the spirits show Scrooge how mean he has been to friends, family and employees, Scrooge eventually learns that money does not bring happiness. Fayette Coweta Family Theatre reccomends the show to ages seven and older, due to the show's powerful themes and intense message.

At each intermission, audiences will be treated to a table full of Christmas treats, including gourmet desserts and hot Christmas teas, coffees and apple cider.

Performances of "A Christmas Carol" are at 7 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. Admission at the door is $8 for general admission and $7 for students and seniors. Advance tickets are available for $7 at the Peachtree City and Fayetteville libraries, Shenanigan's Toys at The Avenue, by phone at 770-251-7611 or via the Web site at www.fcft.net/Carol02.

Be sure to take in this show about the redemption of the human spirit.
