Georgian Terrace stages a holiday feast The opulent Savoy Bar & Grill at The Georgian Terrace Hotel will be the setting for a scrumptious four-course Christmas supper that is sure to be on everyone's holiday "wish list." Created by Chef Jeff Vosburgh, the Christmas supper is offered from noon until 4 p.m. Christmas Day for $34 for adults and $17 for children. For reservations, call 404-897-1991. The meal begins with a chef's array of soups and salads with selections such as the harvest vegetable butterbean & cauliflower soup with rock shrimp or a salad of seasonal greens topped with pears, walnuts, great hill blue cheese and zinfandel vinaigrette. The appetizer course offers a choice of duck confit ravioli with sage and brown butter jus, potato crusted crab cake with a citrus Gewürztraminer reduction or seared tuna with cumin, avocado, mango and yellow tomato gazpacho. Entrees range from comfort foods such as braised beef short ribs to the gourmet traditions of roasted lamb loin with truffle butternut squash puree, heirloom tomatoes and roasted garlic jus and a fish selection of grilled Scottish salmon with beluga lentils, young asparagus and potato horseradish puree. A choice of desserts will please every sweet tooth with a traditional pecan chocolate tart, Grand Marnier crème brulee or a raspberry white chocolate cheesecake. A feast for all of the senses, guests will dine amidst the architectural splendor of this historic landmark. The tony Savoy Bar & Grill was added during The Georgian Terrace Hotel's recent multi-million dollar restoration and occupies the original (1911) hotel lobby overlooking Peachtree Street. Intricate woodwork, damask tapestries, huge Palladian windows, overstuffed chairs, marble columns, and an open action station create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel, known worldwide for hosting the premier party of "Gone with the Wind" in 1939, will be trimmed from head to toe in festive holiday finery. Built in 1911 at the corner of Peachtree Street and Ponce de Leon Avenue in midtown, The Georgian Terrace Hotel is the most distinguished hotel in Atlanta that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The property features 326 guest suites; a stunning rooftop pool; exercise room and two restaurants. The spacious guest suites are elegantly furnished with mahogany vanities and fully equipped kitchens. In the hotel's public areas, visitors can explore classically proportioned hallways and parlors accented with vaulted ceilings, marble and wood columns, intricate plaster moldings, crystal chandeliers and spiral staircases. The Georgian Terrace Hotel is operated by Benchmark Hospitality, a full-service hotel management company.
