More Christmas events this weekend By MICHAEL
BOYLAN We are now another week closer to Christmas and there are more events for people to attend as they put themselves in the holiday spirit. Tomorrow night there will be two concerts for people seeking holiday music. The Fayette County Public Library will have their annual Christmas concert from 7-8 p.m. Admission to the concert is free. Phone 770-461-8841. The Starr's Mill High School Chorus will perform its annual holiday concert also at 7 p.m. The concert will be held in the Duke Auditorium. This year's performance will feature a candlelight processional, carols by candlelight, and Robert Shaw's "Many Moods of Christmas," complete with full orchestra. Admission to this concert is also free. Holiday plays entering their final weekend this weekend are Newnan Community Theatre's "The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society Production of 'A Christmas Carol", Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Southside Theatre Guild's "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus" Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. There will be a full slate of activities on Saturday as well. Holly Grove A.M.E. Church is hosting a Candlelight Musical Concert at 6:30 p.m. The choir features some of the best voices in Fayette County and the surrounding area, singing spiritual and holiday classics. The Southern Crescent Symphony will present "Sing-A-Long Messiah" at 7:30 p.m. at the Clayton County Schools Performing Arts Center. This program will feature the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah with the opportunity to join the orchestra and chorus in singing or simply enjoy the performance of this holiday favorite. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Admission is free for those wishing to sing and scores will be available. For more information please call 770-603-5708. Also on Saturday, First Baptist Senoia will present "The Innkeeper" at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Phone 770-599-3012. Peachtree City United Methodist Church will have their annual birthday party for Jesus from 2-4 p.m. For those of you who have yet to take in a "Nutcracker" yet, Festival Ballet Company will present "The Nutcracker" at the Henry County Performing Arts Center at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $10-$20. Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will present a worship concert on Saturday and Sunday called "And On Earth Peace" on Saturday at 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 6 p.m. Admission to the concert is free. Also on Sunday, North Fayette United Methodist Church will present an evening of old fashioned Christmas Caroling from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Peachtree City United Methodist Church will present "The Festival of Christmas" by The Chancel Choir and Orchestra at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Shuttle bus service is available from Booth Middle School prior to each service. The Student Choir will present its Christmas program, "Laughing All the Way," on Sunday at 6 p.m. Add to these events, "A Southern Christmas" at Stone Mountain, shopping and Christmas-y events in Warm Springs, Fantasy in Lights at Callaway Gardens, "A Christmas Carol" at the Alliance, "The Nutcracker" at the Fox Theatre and "The Velveteen Rabbit" at The Center for Puppetry Arts and you've got more holiday events than you know what to do with.
