Christ Our Shepherd schedules midweek pre-Christmas events By SALLIE
SATTERTHWAITE
Every year, as the world waits for Christmas, the tension between the secular and the spiritual world is stronger than ever. Many Christians, however, choose to celebrate the anticipation of God coming to earth in human form. Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City offers special midweek services in anticipation of the Savior's birth at 7 p.m. each Thursday evening before Christmas Day. The theme this year is, "Are you prepared?" The first service, Dec. 5, is about Joseph, who had received some startling news: "Your fiancée is pregnant!" Was he prepared for that announcement? The second service, Dec. 12, is about Zechariah who got the news that, in his old age, he was going to be a father. Impossible! And on Dec. 16, John the Baptist receives news to which he might well respond: "You want me to do what?" Christ Our Shepherd is at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Ga. Highway 54. The public is welcome to worship throughout Advent and beyond. For more information, call the church office, 770-487-8717. |
