FCCDV benefit successfulThe Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence's recent silent auction and luncheon, the organization's only major fundraiser, was declared a real success, according to the organizers. Director Bonnie Campbell reported that approximately 300 people attended the event, which netted close to $12,000. The council receives no state or federal funding and is totally supported by donations from local governments, businesses, churches, civic groups, individuals and the Thrift Shop. Campbell thanked Chico's, Jos. A. Bank, Limited Too, Liz Claiborne Shoes, Mudpies and the Top Drawer Boutique for providing the clothes and shoes for the models; Elite Tan and Hair Salon for doing the models' hairstyles; and Sandy Solly, who provided Mary Kay makeup for the models. Other sponsors included Right on Thyme Caterers, who provided lunch for the models; A Flower Bouquet II, who provided arrangements for the runway and the live auction flower arrangement; Frank Murphy of Entertainment Productions, who provided the decorations and served as master of cermonies; and the VOCA Club of McIntosh High School, which helped set up for the event. Campbell also thanked all of the benefactors and donors who helped make the silent auction and fashion show a success, as well as the loyal friends who have supported the Council through the years with their time, attendance and generosity.
