Whitewater makes history with Positive Label certificationWhitewater Middle has become the first middle school in the nation to complete an innovative, national, four-week character education program designed to break the name-calling/bullying cycle, stop violence before it starts and teach students self-esteem. The Casey Program centers on the use of positive labels and teaches students about the adverse impacts of negative ones. The program is included in the official character education resources of the National Museum of Patriotism in Atlanta and is set to be featured at the museum in a special Casey Citizenship Exhibit which will feature all schools in the county that have participated in the program. Each school that completes certification will have its name in lights at the museum and for each year that a school is recertified, it will receive a star by its name.
