Reward offered for info on cart thefts near McIntosh By JOHN
MUNFORD
Peachtree City Police are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the theft of two golf carts parked near the McIntosh High School campus last week. The carts were parked off campus just off the cart path that leads to the school, said Police Chief James Murray. One of the carts was taken twice and the other was damaged after it rolled down a hill and struck a tree, Murray said. The incidents occurred Nov. 13-15, according to reports. Although the thefts may have been pranks, they could lead to charges of felony auto theft, which is a serious crime, Murray said. The school recently added a golf cart parking lot so students can park on campus. That area is secured by the school and is a safer place to park, Murray said.
