Author-detective will appear at open houseMaj. Bruce Jordan of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department will sign his two crime books at an open house at Attic Treasures Antiques and Collectibles in Fayetteville Saturday at 2 p.m. Jordan is the author of "Death Unexpected: The Violent Deaths of Fayette" and "Murder in the Peach State," a compilation of unique murder cases that have occurred in Georgia. He is also the director of investigations for the Sheriff's Department, where he has worked for 24 years. Acclaimed Fayette author Dr. Ferrol A. Sams Jr. said Jordan's technique "puts the reader on the scene, in the investigation and in the courtroom. "These stories, old and new, seen through the eyes of a trained detective, take on a perspective that only a professional investigation can deliver," Sams said.
