Goody Products, Peachtree City, received the 2002 Spirit of Industry Award. The Existing Industry Committee of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce gives two awards each year, one for companies with over 50 employees and one for under 50 employees.

The companies must submit an application and a panel of judges determines a winner based on the industry's economic impact, its citizenship, and workforce excellence.

Goody Products is a company whose headquarters have been located in Peachtree City for over nine years.

It grew its employment rolls by 20 employees in the last 12 months, a 30 percent increase in a difficult economy.

It is involved in the chamber of commerce as well as the March of Dimes, Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence, the Women's Success Network, the American Cancer Society, Scouts and several local, state, and national charity organizations.

Goody is active in schools in both Fayette and Coweta counties.

Receiving the award for the over 50 employee category was PRINTEGRA. The printing company has been located for over 20 years in Peachtree City and employs 80 at the two facilities in Peachtree City, and has over 14 manufacturing facilities in the United States with over 800 employees.

The company grew its workforce by five percent, and through a major acquisition, it has increased its revenue from $28 million to over $75 million in the last 12 months.
