Recreation teams come to Fayetteville for Tide Cup
McCurry Park will be full of excitement this weekend as it hosts the first Georgia Tide American Cup. This new tournament for recreational teams only will be an exciting finale to the fall playing season. Harold Vernon, President of Fayette Youth Soccer, has been preparing the venue with the help of many Fayette board members. "With over 130 teams from al over the state, ranging in age from U-10 to U-19, it is sure to be a weekend of comeptitive soccer and lots of fun," said Vernon. "We want to show everyone at the festival what a great venue we have and what a great event this will be for recreational soccer." The festivities begin on Saturday morning with the opening of the Tide Festival. The festival includes a soccer challenge obstacle course to test your agility and speed and other fun soccer activities. be sure to stop by the McCurry Park South fields where you can test your kick accuracy at the Snickers Kick center. Atlanta Beat players and their mascot, Rhythm, will also be on hand to sign autographs and chat about their sport.
