I just wanted to extend kudos to the Rev. John Hatcher for his recent Citizen column that proposed that people in second and third marriages could find happiness.

Some have argued that the Rev. Hatcher should focus on making first marriages stronger. They miss the point. All good pastors try to insure that first marriages will be as strong as possible. Sadly, nearly half of those end in disappointment.

Hatcher will, doubtless, take some flak for this article but I, for one, have seen God to be "the God of the second chance" on more than one occasion.

Thank you, John, for reminding us of God's faithfulness, grace and mercy.
