Fayette has
one of best-run election operations in state
I happened to be reading the Citizen one day when I came across a poll worker's opinion concerning the new voting machines. The author went on to describe how most of the poll workers in the class were senior citizens and were very comfortable with computers "well beyond their e-mail function, but they did look shaken when Elections Superintendent Carolyn Combs admitted she didn't have all the answers to the questions bubbling out of our minds." Of course Carolyn Combs did not have all the answers to their questions. She and the other ladies only knew what the state and the company representatives taught them concerning the machines. I know most of the women in the elections department had to spend many days attending classes and seminars about the new voting machines away from their homes. Carolyn Combs alone has nearly 20 years with the department and in my opinion has done a great job over the years. I can voice this opinion about her because I am her son. You are living in a county with probably the best-run elections department in the state, and be grateful for that, voting machine or not. Kevin Combs Senoia
