PRINTEGRA, Goody capture Spirit awards By CAROLYN CARY
Peachtree City's PRINTEGRA and Goody Products walked away with this year's Spirit of Industry awards. The Existing Industry Committee of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce announced its 2002 Spirit of Industry Awards last week. There are two categories, companies with less than 50 employees and those with over 50 employees. The companies must submit an application and a panel of judges determines a winner based on the industry's economic impact, its citizenship, and workforce excellence. The company chosen in the over 50 employees was PRINTEGRA, a printing firm in Peachtree City. It is active in the chamber of commerce, Boy Scouts, and a number of other local civic and charitable organizations. They are active in the local schools and regularly host graphic arts classes. It offers numerous employee education and training opportunities as well as a host of employee recognition and reward programs. The company has grown their local workforce by five percent, and through a major acquisition, it has increased its revenue from $28 million to over $75 million in the last 12 months. PRINTEGRA employs 80 at the two facilities in Peachtree City and has over 14 manufacturing facilities in the United States with over 800 employees. Casey Campbell, president and CEO of the company, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Chosen in the less than 50 employee category was Goody Products, Inc., a company whose headquarters have been located in Peachtree City for over nine years. They grew their employment rolls by 20 employees in the last 12 months, a 30 percent increase in a difficult economy. It is involved in the chamber of commerce as well as the March of Dimes, Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence, the Women's Success Network, the American Cancer Society, Scouts and several local, state, and national charity organizations. Active in the schools in Fayette County, it is also active in programs in schools in Coweta County. Offering numerous employee education and training opportunities, Goody has a host of employee recognition and reward programs. Though known for providing high paying jobs for local citizens, it has a strong record of corporation citizenship and for its annual sponsorship of the USTA tournament at the Peachtree City Tennis Center. Tracy Millette, human resources director, accepted the award for the company.
