Here's chance to put Fayette resident into
high state office

Tuesday should produce a record turnout at the polls in Fayette County. Voters should be lined up at the doors of their polling locations just to vote Gov. Barnes and Lt. Gov. Taylor out of office.

In their latest attempt to keep the power in their hands, they have taken away our local representation. We are now going to be represented by four South Fulton liberals and two Republicans from Spalding and Rockdale counties. It seems to me that we pay way too much in taxes to the state to have "0" representation.

We do, however, have an excellent chance to have one Fayette County citizen elected to a state office. Our own Kathy Cox needs and deserves our support in her run for state school superintendent.

Kathy is a teacher who knows what it takes to lift our state public schools out of the bureaucratic mire. She also knows that the money is already there, so no new taxes. She also knows that our students are much more capable than 50th in SAT scores. She wants to remove the political ties that bind our teachers and let them teach.

Kathy Cox will be good for our students, our schools, and our state. Please go and vote Nov. 5 and remember to check the box for Kathy Cox.
