Providence UMC celebrates 7th anniversary

Providence United Methodist church on Bernhard Rd. recently celebrated its 7th anniversary with a cookout, games for children and music by the Generation Gap band.

Senior Minister Allan Todd welcomed almost 800 people to Providence for "Celebration Sunday." A highlight of the day was a visit by Jim Ellison who returned from his one-year doctorate program at Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Ky., to preach for the day. Ellison, who founded the church in 1995 with eight families, will return to Providence in May, 2003.

Providence is at 592 Bernhard Rd. between Redwine Rd. and Ga. Hwy. 85 in Fayetteville.
