The Fayette County Commission is expected to decide tomorrow night whether a tract in southern Fayette County is ripe for a subdivision.

Dr. Thomas Busey is asking the county to rezone 158.233 acres from A-R to R-80 to develop a single-family residential subdivision consisting of 46 lots. The property fronts on Goza Road and Old Greenville Road.

The county's A-R zoning district requires a five-acre minimum effort, while R-80 allows three-acre lots.

In other action, the county will approve the submission of the annual update of the Capital Improvement Element, the Short Term Work Program for Fire Services Impact Fee, and adoption of a Resolution to transmit the CIE and STWP to the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Department of Community Affairs.

The County Commission is also expected to approve several items on the consent agenda including:

Approval of request from Fayette Senior Services to place a sign on the old courthouse lawn from Feb. 7-22, 2003, to advertise the annual music concert fund raising initiative for Fayette Senior Services.

Approval of recommendation from the Water Committee to fund a study on the down stream effects on a reservoir at a cost of $10,500.

Approval of recommendation from the Director of Purchasing Tim Jones to award bid to low bidder Atlanta Freightliner in the amount of $52,990 for the purchase of a flat bed dump truck.

Approval of recommendation from the Director of Purchasing Tim Jones to award bid to Leisure Lines, Inc. for playground equipment for Lake Kedron and McCurry Park Football each in the amount of $19,000 for each location and a total of $38,000.

Approval of request from the Sheriff's Department to transfer insurance reimbursement from the general fund to the Sheriff's Department-Criminal Investigations Division in the amount of $2,242.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Fayette County Administrative Complex.
