GAE endorses Cox State Rep. Kathy Cox of Peachtree City has been endorsed by the Georgia Association of Educators in her bid to become Georgia's next state school superintendent. "I'm proud to accept the endorsement of GAE, a group that I have been a member of during my many years of teaching in Georiga's schools," said Cox, who recently won the Republican nomination over Mitchell Kaye and will face Democrat Barbara Christmas in November's general election. "Having served my community as a teacher for 15 years, I understand the necessity of teachers having a voice in the process of education reform in Georgia," she said. "The improved academic achievement of our students is our first priority, and as state school superintendent I hope to work with the teachers of Georgia to accomplish this goal." GAE represents teachers, counselors, media specialists, school psychologists and social workers, principals, superintendents, supervisors, educational support professionals, higher education faculty, retired educators, and students. The organization provides representation within the state legislature and state agencies on educational issues. For more information on the Cox campaign, visit www.kathycox.com.
