Main Street Festival brings a touch of fall to downtown Fayetteville By MICHAEL

Downtown Fayetteville will be alive this weekend with the sights, sounds and smells of the 10th annual Fayettevile Rotary Main Street Arts and Crafts Festival. Visitors will be able to browse over many arts and crafts and collectible booths, while children can play in the Kids Corner, which will feature rides and games. There will also be a wide selction of "fair cuisine" for people to sink their teeth into. "This event has grown throughout the years, and has become one of our largest fundraisers for our club," said festival chairman Irene Edwards. "The proceeds from this event enable us to give back to the community and support organizations such as Fayette Samaritans and the Fayette Youth protection home, the Georgia Rotary Student Program, as well as a long list of other worthwhile organizations." The festival will take place Saturday and Sunday. Festival hours on Saturday are from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., while hous on Sunday are from noon to 5 p.m. Attendees may park downtown around the square or utilize the new downtown parking lot located next to Southern crescent Mortgage on the corner of Ga. highways 85 and 54. Admission to the festival is free. |
