McIntosh starts their hockey season tonight

The athletic department at McIntosh High School in Peachtree City and the Georgia High School League (GHSL) have again met the challenge of students interested in experiencing high school team spirit in a sport they both excel in and love.

This year promises to be an exciting inaugural season for the McIntosh Chiefs High School ice hockey team as they join the GSHL for the first time and compete against a very talented field of 15 teams representing the north metro Atlanta area.

Southside home games will be played Wednesday evenings through February at the Southlake Ice Forum on Mt. Zion Rd. in Morrow. The Chiefs' first game is tonight at 8 p.m. McIntosh has also been invited to play behind the Atlanta Thrashers at Philips Arena in November.

Leading this talented group of students, many of whom have enjoyed championship seasons in both ice and roller hockeys, are coaches John Rourke, Rick Arbuckle, and Joe Andersen. For more information on the GHSL, visit their Web site at www.GSHL.org.
