'Council
ready to work with all comers' Really?
Mayor Brown, it is time for you and your "team" to listen to the residents of Peachtree City. Only 3,171 registered voters, approximately 15 percent of the registered voters in the city, voted for you! This is no mandate for you to charge ahead remaking Peachtree City to your personal vision. I have read Steve Brown's essay a number of times, and have come to the conclusion that "his" council is ready to work with you if, (and only if) you are willing to follow Steve's agenda. If you disagree with the mayor's vision, woe be unto you, as evidenced by his comments regarding Annie McMenamin. The essence of that paragraph is, If you don't play on our team and follow our agenda you should be replaced. Annie McMenamin has served on this city council for over 12 years and has not played on anyone's team. She has served as a tireless advocate of the residents of Peachtree City during this time. Who would want to even try to work with Steve Brown's team knowing in advance that if you don't follow his rules you will be publicly chastised? If you are ready to commit ethics violations, champion causes with no local support or support unenforceable ordinances (undermining the police force), you are with Steve. Go for it! Steve's your man! Carol A. Giddings Peachtree City
