McIntosh softball falls to undefeated Lady Tigers

Fayette County's Lady Tiger varsity softbal team hosted McIntosh on Tuesday night. It was amatchup of two of the stronger teams in Region 4-AAAAA and Fayette County emerged looking the strongest.

Both teams were held scoreless by their opponents until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Lady Tigers picked up four runs. Becky Carder drove in two runs, while Ashley Holcombe and pitcher Bonnie Bynum each drove in one. Bynum also picked up her 18th win as the team captured their 17th shutout of the season. Fayette County is now 20-0.

Both Fayette County and McIntosh are scheduled to play in the Lassiter tournament this weekend. Fayette County will play at Carver, Columbus on Tuesday, while McIntosh will play at East Coweta at 6 p.m. The Lady Chiefs will travel down the road on Thursday to take on Starr's Mill. Both games are at 6 p.m.
