Fayette native Jeff Cole named new area director for Young Life of Fayette County Young Life of Fayette County has named Fayette County native Jeff Cole as the youth organization's new area director following four years in a similar position in Missoula, Mont. Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to junior high and high school aged kids through a relational approach. The organization goes where kids are in order to build friendships with them and earn the right to make a positive impact on their lives. Cole, a 1985 graduate of McIntosh high School and 1991 graduate of the University of Georgia, previously served as a volunteer and staff member of the organization from 1992 - 1998. He will now be leading a team of staff and volunteers in Fayette County who have a common goal of reaching out to kids and ministering to their specific needs. "We're excited about having Jeff return to Young Life of Fayette County because he's well respected and has a good rapport with teenagers in our community," said Ris Cowan, chairman of the Young Life of Fayette County Committee. "Young Life here is part of a large, national youth ministry that reaches across denominations and helps young people directly at their level. We're funded locally through donations and use local volunteers to help with youth activities." For more than 60 years, Young Life has been providing strong, positive influences in the lives of young people across the United States and other countries around the world. Young Life provides healthy, creative fun from weekly clubs, seasonal camping experiences and daily outings with leaders. "Young Life's main goal is to touch young people across the globe with the message of Jesus Christ through the loving hard work of establishing close friendships with adult leaders. I'm committed to making that our top priority in Fayette County," said Cole of his new position.
