One of them has come home to practice dentistry and one of them has now made Fayette County his home.

Dr. Lindsay Barber Pope, a 1992 graduate of McIntosh High School, has returned to her home county to practice dentistry. In the process she brought along her husband, Dr. Michael C. Pope. The couple, both 28, live in Peachtree City and have a practice in the former office of Dr. Robert Vassey.

Lindsay was born in Charlotte, N. C., but the family moved to Tyrone when she was 7 years old. She is a graduate of Emory University with a degree in biology.

She applied to the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where she met her husband. They were married in June, 1999.

Michael is a native of Butler, Alabama. He is a graduate of Samford with a major in biology. The field of dentistry had interested him for some time. After consultation with friends in the field, began his schooling at UASD.

Both graduated in 2000.

Currently, Michael practices in Fayetteville, and Lindsay is building up a family practice in Peachtree City.

They belong to the South Metro Dental Club, which meets monthly in Fayetteville. Approximately 25 to 30 people, representing the various areas of dentistry, get together, hear a speaker and consult with one another about any special problems. Michael is vice president of the group.

The practice can be reached at 770-487-5540.
