TUCS has new dance school and new dance instructor

TUCS Cheer Lab in Fayetteville has done it again. Following an amazing first year in business, to the tune of 300 percent growth, the soon-to-be king of the Atlanta cheerleading schools has added another profit center, a competitive dance team.

If you haven't heard about these cheer and dance schools yet, get ready you will. And if you haven't seen competitive cheerleading and dance teams performing on the likes of ESPN, climb out from under that rock. It is the latest craze to hit local gyms and training centers are popping up all over the place resulting in a multi-million dollar industry.

Cheer and dance schools you say? If it all sounds a little funny to you, consider this, scholarships. That's right, cheer and dance teams have become so competitive at colleges and universities around the country that most are offering athletic scholarships to the best of the best who will be fortunate, and well-trained, enough to represent their school teams.

TUCS is one of the youngest of these gyms but, with the draw of industry renowned coaches and an impressive competitive first year, TUCS is undeniably the one to watch in Atlanta.

Recent try-outs resulted in five competitive cheer teams, up from three last year, and two newly formed dance teams. The dancers, coached by veteran dancer Cori Pegg, practice a minimum of two times per week and will compete locally, regionally and nationally along with the cheer teams. Pegg is pleased to have been able to form two dance teams; a pee-wee team, comprised of kindergarten through fourth graders, and a junior team, for children in grades five and above. Both dance teams have some room for growth for anyone interested in giving it a whirl. But time is running out as the competitive season approaches.

"For a new gym and new dance teams the response has been tremendous," says Pegg. "The support we have seen at TUCS has been amazing and we are so excited to be preparing two very competitive teams. With the competitive season right around the corner we have jumped right in with both feet! My girls work extremely hard and are very dedicated. We are confident that our dance teams will follow on the success of the cheer teams. We are very proud to be representing TUCS."

Originally from Collierville, Tennessee, Pegg danced for the Ole Miss Rebels and worked for the Universal Dance Association for five years. She has coached locally and has competed at nationals with several of her teams. She now resides in Peachtree City.

If coaching is the key to any sport, as most would agree, and nationally ranked coaches are flocking to TUCS as fast as the athletes, TUCS will certainly not only be the one to watch but the one to beat!

TUCS offers cheer, dance and tumbling instruction for beginners through advanced. For more information, visit HtmlResAnchor www.tucscheerlab.com or call 770-716-1288.
