Current mayor, editor joined at the hip

The recent articles about the Sept. 6 hearing cause me to ask how your paper can print two statements that seem to be of different opinions.

"It says here that the former mayor of Peachtree City has sworn out arrest warrants for the current mayor of Peachtree City." "Lenox applied for a criminal arrest warrant on Brown with the Fayette Magistrate Court."

It would seem that Mr. Lenox would have the same legal avenues that all of us share. Obviously he does not have the authority to swear out a warrant on Mr. S. Brown.

Now that the former mayor is electing to use the judicial system to address a problem, he is again being attacked by the current mayor. (The activist is well versed since he has been so well trained and practiced for the previous four years).

Even the casual reader knows the editor and the current mayor are joined at the hip. Instead of using the system to make a contribution to the good of our community they want to, in the editors case, sell more papers, and the current mayor's case, feed that overriding ego.

Every time the current mayor is ethically questioned, he always has a quick response. Recently the culprit was a tardy repairman. Earlier a troublesome button that sent him into a panic. (If I may ask a question, if a lost button causes a panic, how would you, as a mayor, react to a real life-threatening situation?)

The previous paragraph leads to the ethics question. Mr. Brown's answer was that the owner of a clothing store allowed him to take a sports coat off the rack, use it for the day and return it to the rack. Hmmm, unethical in my day, but not maybe in today's world. The legal ramifications are to be questioned?
