Forever Plaid' to raise money for Hope House and Christian City Home for Children

The Plaids, a musical group of crooners, died tragically in 1964 when their vehicle collided with a school bus full of eager teenagers on their way to see The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. The Plaids never got their big chance at fame. Until now, that is.

Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville will present the smash off-Broadway musical "Forever Plaid," this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The show is a benefit for Hope House and the Christian City Home for Children and 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to these two organizations.

"Forever Plaid" follows the four singers back to Earth to perform the show they never got to perform in life. Each member has a flaw however, be it jittery nerves, indigestion, a slight speech impediment or the inability to tell his left from his right. The show has been a hit with audiences for years. This production features Fayette County resident and dentist Ed Richardson, Blaine Clotfelter, Lance Aldredge and Jeff Cooper as The Plaids.

Tickets for "Forever Plaid" are $15 and can be purchased by calling Christian City at 770-703-2636 or Hope House at 770-969-8354.
