Tenth annual Wild Trail trot set for Sunday
The Cochran Mill Nature Center in Fairburn will have the 10th annual Wild Trail Trot 5K trail run on Sunday, Sept. 8. The 5K run will start at 2 p.m. and the one mile fun run will start at 1:30 p.m. Race day registration will begin at 1 p.m. The race will begin and end at the Nature Center. Last year's race saw approximately 100 runners maneuver the Nature Center trails as well as the trails in Fulton County's Cochran Mill Park, which is adjacent to the nature center. Handmade, nature-oriented prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers o the 5k in the following age grups: 11 and under, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and above. The top three finishers of the 1-mile aged 12 and under will receive medallions and ribbons. The cost for the 5K is $18 and the cost of the one mile is $8. Phone 770-306-0914 for more information.
