Lady Tigers keep Starr's Mill at bay, win 11-0

Fayette County and Starr's Mill's undefeated softball teams met on the diamond last Thursday evening. Fayette County struck early and often and won 11-0. The Lady Tigers scored two runs in the first, four runs in the third, one run in the fourth and fifth and three runs in the seventh. Bonnie Bynum picked up the win for the Lady Tigers, striking out 11 of the 23 batters she faced and only giving up one hit. She also drove in two runs in the win. other players driving in runs for Fayette County were Ashley Holcombe with three RBI, Megan Nichols with two RBI and Katie Gaspierik and Becky Carder with one run driven in apiece. Starr's Mill returns to action today with a 6 p.m. game at McIntosh, and Fayette County plays at the new Mundy's Mill High School off Ga. Highway 54 in Clayton County at 5 p.m.
