Honking drivers rude, crude and inconsiderate First, I would like to thank our mayor and city officials who took time to listen to us Golfview Drive residents and acted immediately to do something to help us concerning the big problem we have had on our street for so long. A problem, which I might add, we did not have years ago before more growth and the opening of streets on the north end. A lot of people have exceeded the speed warning sign of 20 mph on "Thrill Hill" in the upper part of my yard for a long time, some still do even with the stop signs. To some people this seems to be a very exciting thrill to fly over the hill. I have held my breath many times hoping and praying no one would get killed or hurt. I can truthfully say very few have paid attention to that warning sign or any other such sign on Golfview. NOW that drastic measures have had to be taken to calm traffic down, people are complaining to our local government and us. Neighbors and people on other streets off Golfview are experiencing heavier traffic of people that are going on their streets to avoid our street. They do not like it, I know, but we have had it for years! I would like to remind all people that we on Golfview did not create this problem; traffic violators did. We have some people riding by our homes honking their horns (this does not bother us). You people that are doing this, don't you think it rude, crude and unattractive? Have you ever noticed that those who complain the most are the worst violators! Our family was devastated four years ago when our son (husband, father and brother) was killed on one of our streets here in Peachtree City. He was well-known and well-liked and an innocent victim of a traffic violator. We have recently had another tragic death of another young, innocent man by a traffic violator. Let's all cooperate, obey the law, have more patience and respect for our city officials who are trying desperately to correct problems and make it safer for all of us. Slow down so we will not have these problems we are having. Nancy Nelms Peachtree City
