Order tree seedlings now for fall/winter planting

The Georgia Forestry Commission continues to accept orders for seedlings to be planted this fall and winter. Seedling application forms are available at all Georgia Forestry Commission offices.

Interested persons need to place their orders early so they can be assured of the seedlings they want and will need. Several varieties are offered this year and many will sell out quickly.

Seedlings are sold bareroot. Pine species come in packages of 50, 500 and 1,000. The following pine species available include: Improved Loblolly, Longleaf, and Virginia pine.

Hardwood species come in packages of 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000; included are: Bald Cypress, Crepe Myrtle, Dogwood, Red Cedar, Lespedeza, Cherrybark Oak, Live Oak, Northern Red Oak, Sawtooth Oak, Swamp Chestnut Oak, Water Oak, White Oak and Yellow Poplar.

Also available is a package of 10 select Dogwood seedlings (24-36 inches in height). The Wildlife Pack includes 10 Sawtooth Oak, 10 Persimmon, 10 Crabapple and 50 Lespedeza seedlings.
